Statement Of Faith
The Bible is the only complete, inspired and infallible Word of God. 2 Timothy 3:16
There is one living and true God who exists for all eternity in three persons - God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. Matthew 28:19, John 10:30
We believe in the perfect deity and perfect humanity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His sacrificial death, His bodily resurrection, His ascension, and His bodily return in power and glory. Luke 1:31-35
That men and women were created in the image and likeness of God, but that in Adam’s sin the human race fell, inherited a sin nature, and became alienated from God. Therefore, humanity is totally depraved and unable to remedy its fallen condition. (Gen. 1:26,27; Rom. 5:12,19; Eph. 2:1-3,12).
We believe that salvation is the gift of God brought to man by grace and is received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, whose substitutionary death on the cross paid the penalty for man's sin through His shed blood, and only those who put their faith in Jesus Christ are saved. (Romans 5:8,9; Ephesians 2:8-10; Titus 3:5).
In the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life (Romans 8:13,14; I Corinthians 3:16; I Corinthians 6:19-20; Ephesians 4:30; Ephesians 5:18).
We believe in the spiritual unity of believers through our common faith in Jesus Christ. (Romans 8:9; I Corinthians 12:12,13; Galatians 3:26-28).
That God wonderfully foreordained and immutably created each person as either male or female in conformity with their biological sex. These two distinct yet complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God (Genesis 1:26-27).
That the term marriage has only one meaning: the uniting of one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union, as delineated in Scripture (Genesis 2:18-25).
We believe that God intends sexual intimacy to occur only between a man and a woman who are married to each other (I Corinthians 6:18, 7:2-5; Hebrews 13:4).
That all human life is sacred and created by God in His image. Human life is of inestimable worth in all its dimensions, including pre-born babies, the aged, the physically or mentally challenged, and every other stage or condition from conception through natural death. We are therefore called to defend, protect, and value all human life (Psalm 139).
Beautiful Roots Homeschool Co-op Code Of Conduct
It is our desire to put God first in all that we do and to live according to the Bible. We are called to train our children in such a way as would reflect Godly character in all we do. “So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” -1 Corinthians 10:31.
To accomplish this, we are asking for you to abide by the following guidelines during Co-op:
Be Punctual:
Please arrive on time. “On time” means arriving 10 minutes earlier than the co-op start time.
Facility:
We are a Co-op that meets on church property and will respect all church grounds and facilities. All students should be mindful that we are sharing our space with church employees and staff and make every effort to consider and honor them as we conduct our weekly meeting. Students should be respectful of our host church’s property at all times.
Character:
Parents and Students are expected to conduct themselves in a way that honors God. Parents and Students will treat their fellow classmates and teachers with respect. Parents and Students are expected to have self-control (Titus 2:11-12), obedience (John 14:23), wholesome talk (Ephesians 4:29), and be kind (Romans 12:10, John 15:12).
Students will:
● Treat teachers, parents, other students and our host facility courteously and with respect.
● Listen attentively to teachers, assistants and volunteers.
● No running or chasing in the building, no jumping or climbing on church property. ● No screaming, yelling or using profane language at any time.
● No hitting, pushing or otherwise physically harming others.
● Do not litter, pick up after yourself and be respectful of the facility we use.
Discipline:
Each person should strive to treat others as they would like to be treated.(Matthew 7:12) All adults will strive to demonstrate love, grace, and helpfulness to all students. However, this does not mean that inappropriate behavior will be tolerated. If a student is not following the standards set forth in the code of conduct, the procedure will be as follows:
● A Verbal Warning will be given by the teacher or adult in charge. Teachers and/or parents will take the opportunity to encourage the student to sincerely apologize. ● If the behavior continues, the student will be excused from class and escorted by a teacher who will take the student to his/her parent. The student will remain with their parents for the remainder of that class period.
● If this is an ongoing problem, every effort to resolve the issue will be made. However, Beautiful Roots Homeschool Co-op reserves the right to deny further participation, with the final decision residing with the Board of Directors. If this should happen, there are no refunds for any related fees.
Grievance Procedure:
If a student, teacher, or parent is unhappy with something - how a class or situation is being conducted, or how another has behaved, he or she (teacher, parent, and student) will not voice their complaint to others, but, in love and prayer, go directly to the person involved in order to seek unity. He or she will use the procedure laid out for us in Matthew 18:15-17 as a guide to work through these types of situations. If the two parties are unable to resolve their concerns/differences, let the situation then be presented before the Board of Directors. There is no place for gossip, dissension, or unresolved feelings among followers of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Dress Code:
Parents and Students should wear clean, modest clothing that covers all undergarments, chest, stomach, and back.
*For P.E. and Art Classes*: Wear comfortable gym clothes and closed toe shoes and avoid working in clothes that you mind ruining. Even with taking care and wearing an apron, students are likely to still get the odd splash of paint here or there.* More specific instructions may be given by the teachers.
Electronic Devices:
Students are not permitted to bring cellphones to the co-op. For parents, electronic devices are permitted outside of class and when appropriate for use in class.
Communication:
Electronic communication is the primary form of communication, which includes use of the “Band App”. An invitation to join the group on “Band App” will be sent upon enrollment. Check “Band App” prior to co-op in case of last minute changes. This app will be used for homeschool related business only. For inclement weather, make sure to check it in the morning before leaving for co-op to confirm if co-op will be delayed, canceled, or remain on schedule. We also ask that you let us know ahead of time if not coming to the co-op on a given day.
Field Trips:
By signing up for a field trip, you are responsible for paying any fees associated with the field trip. A waiver will need to be signed by the families going on fieldtrips.
Sickness
If you or your children are sick, please stay home. The following are guidelines to help you to determine if you need to call in.
● Fever: Fever is defined as having a temperature of 100°F or higher taken under the arm, 101°F taken orally (a child needs to be fever free for a minimum of 24 hours before coming to co-op, that means the child is fever free without the aid of any fever reducing substance.)
● Fever AND sore throat, rash, vomiting, diarrhea, earache, irritability, or confusion. ● Diarrhea: 2 or more loose stools within the last 4 hours.
● Vomiting: 2 or more times in a 24 hour period. Note: please do not bring your child if they have vomited in the night.
● Breathing trouble, sore throat, swollen glands, loss of voice, hacking or continuous coughing.
● Frequent scratching of the body or scalp, lice, rash, or any other spots that resemble childhood diseases, including ringworm.
Attendance and Absences
Our Philosophy
Beautiful Roots meets just 27 Mondays each school year. Because we meet so infrequently, every class day is valuable. Each family's presence contributes to the learning experience, the classroom community, and the service commitments of our teachers and volunteers.
When families enroll, they are making a commitment not only to their own children's education, but also to the other families who depend on them. We understand that illness, emergencies, and unavoidable conflicts occur. This policy is designed to balance grace with accountability.
Planned Absences
If you know your family will be absent, please notify administration as early as possible. Advance notice allows teachers to prepare appropriately. Examples include:
Family vacation
Scheduled appointments
Planned events
Known conflicts
Planned and Unplanned Absences
Families are allotted three planned or unplanned absences per school year. An unplanned absence is one that occurs without advance notice, such as illness, a family emergency, or unexpected circumstances. Please notify administration as soon as possible on the morning of the absence.
After three planned or unplanned absences, administration may schedule a conversation with the family to discuss continued participation. Because our community meets only 27 times per year, frequent absences significantly affect the classroom experience for teachers and students alike.
Our goal is not to remove families, but to preserve the health of our community and ensure that enrollment reflects families who are able to participate consistently.
Administration reserves the right to determine whether continued enrollment is appropriate based on attendance patterns, volunteer participation, and communication.
Grace and Communication
We recognize that life sometimes brings unexpected hardship. Families experiencing prolonged illness, medical situations, military obligations, or significant family emergencies are encouraged to communicate with administration. Our desire is always to respond with compassion while maintaining fairness to the entire co-op community.
Refunds:
All fees for registration, materials, etc. are non-refundable.
Our goal is to provide a safe place where every participant feels valued and respected as a unique and special creation of God. It is our prayer that each person feels like a valued member of the co-op as we endeavor to provide an environment for our children that teaches them to love one another in action and in word.
